Eteach Awards Teaching Excellence

Eteach UK has awarded outstanding headteachers at a leading event which recognises the dedication of teaching and management staff in schools.

The UK's leading online education recruitment service sponsored three categories at the Education Business Awards, as well as the event itself, held in London on 10th November. The Awards were for: Outstanding Teacher - Secondary, Outstanding Teacher - Primary, and the School Recruitment Award.

Speaking at the event, Eteach Chief Executive Paul Howells said: "Teaching and learning is crucial in schools, so it's important that the work of these outstanding headteachers is recognised. When you read what they've achieved, it's obvious that you've got to be superhuman to manage a school today!

"I'm also pleased to be sponsoring the School Recruitment Award. At a time when schools are facing yet more budget cuts, it's more important than ever that they benefit from the cost savings offered by online recruitment."

Vic Goddard, whose Passmores Academy in Harlow has featured in Channel 4’s Educating Essex series, won the award for Outstanding Secondary Teacher. The award in the Primary sector went to Anthony Hull, headteacher at Costessey Junior School in Norwich, and the School Recruitment award was won by the James Brindley School in Birmingham.

The event was hosted by the newscaster Moira Stewart and attracted teaching professionals and businesses in the education sector from across the UK.

Details of all the awards are available at www.ebawards.co.uk.

Notes to Editors

Eteach.com offers a powerful and cost effective solution to the recruitment problems facing schools. It provides a unique integrated recruitment service, helping schools employ staff in the primary, secondary, special needs and independent sectors, as well as further education.

The UK’s leading education recruitment portal currently has over 600,000 teacher members, giving employers access to an unrivalled pool of talent nationally and internationally. The service is free to teachers, who simply enter their CV and then have access to a live database of vacancies.

School, Group and Regional Talent Pools are an innovative concept which has been introduced by Eteach to simplify recruitment and further drive down costs for schools. Recruiters can set up a Talent Pool, a database of potential employees that attracts teachers who want to work in that region or school. When there’s a vacancy schools can access the list of candidates who have already expressed an interest in working in their area or directly for them. By utilising this management resource Eteach is confident schools will save money, time and jobs.
