ASCL, the Association of School and College Leaders, confirmed this week that they will continue to support Eteach’s online recruitment offering to secondary schools this academic year with a special scheme for their members. With around 25% of secondary schools in England and Wales signed up already, it is thought that this recruitment initiative could soon become the sector standard.
Eteach developed the scheme for ASCL to save valuable funds for its members, who as school and college leaders are the decision-makers, with regards to recruitment budgets.
This unique initiative offers a ‘one off’ annual fee of £500 which allows schools to advertise as many vacancies as they need throughout the year. With statistics showing that a large secondary school can spend up to £20,000 on recruitment each year, this could potentially save the whole of the UK education system millions.
‘One newspaper advert can cost around £400 and schools spend many hundreds more on printing and posting application packs. This initiative will allow schools to fix their recruitment advertising costs at a much lower rate and being able to upload application packs online removes the fulfilment costs entirely. With the process run via the Internet, this also means that everything is instant and so shaves weeks off the whole recruitment process.’ Comments Paul Howells (CEO, Eteach)
Dr. John Dunford, General Secretary of ASCL, added: “This is an opportunity to create a definitive online location where teachers will look for vacancies in secondary schools and sixth form colleges, from which all schools and colleges can gain a more cost effective and efficient service.”
Schools can use Eteach to;
- advertise vacancies instantly online to an audience of over 300,000 registered educational professionals
- receive applications from candidates by email
- save administration time and costs by attaching application packs and extensive vacancy information online.
