New Initiative Saves Schools Thousands

Secondary schools in England and Wales can save up to £30,000 per school this year on teacher recruitment thanks to a new initiative launched this month by eteach.com, the UK’s leading teacher recruitment website.

Large secondary schools spend on average £30,000 per annum on advertising teaching vacancies in the press. A single advert in a local newspaper can cost £400 and twice that in the national press for a two-week run. Eteach is offering secondary schools free online vacancy advertising until Easter 2006. By using this online initiative schools can tap into a pool of over 300,000 registered Eteach members already searching for vacancies, at a fraction of the price of newspaper advertising.

William Simmonds, Chief Executive of the National Bursars association Limited, comments,

‘We welcome initiatives that help schools do away with unnecessary costs and improve efficiency. Newspaper advertising is extremely expensive and a drain on resources. Any savings from using eteach.com instead can be invested in improved school facilities. Using eteach.com enables schools to cut down on administration too, as application forms can be posted online and downloaded and emailed or mailed to the school. It is vital that schools embrace the savings and efficiencies of services available to them. This initiative is simple way to help keep the school budget on track this term.’

Over 100 secondary schools have already signed up for the scheme in the first month.

Eteach estimates that UK schools could save around £30 million per annum by using online teacher recruitment.  For more information email info@eteach.com or  call 0845 226 1906.
