Andover Education Centre
Situated to the north of Andover Shepherds Spring Junior School enjoys a pleasant setting on a large site shared with the Infants school., which includes extensive grassed areas and a wide variety of shrubs and trees.
The two schools service an area of largely local authority housing. There is an excellent liaison between the two schools. Children progress to one of three secondary schools in Andover and there are also good links with these.
There are approximately 160 junior pupils housed in a two storey building constructed in 1967 with our maximum roll being 240. We have a two form entry in the Upper School and single form entry in the Lower school. Pupils are taught in year groups. A large hall is used for assemblies, PE and lunches. School meals are cooked on the premises.
We received the QCA School Achievement award for 2002 as our SAT results had shown such constant and significant improvement.
In November 2002 the school was inspected by OFSTED and the report was very positive, recognising the hard work that the staff and governors have put into achieving our school motto, "Aiming High".
