Fiddlers Lane Primary School
Fiddlers Lane Primary School has a very strong ethos based on the school LOGO of caring, co-operation and community. Children are encouraged to co-operate with each other and all the adults in the school. The school in turn has developed positive relationships with outside agencies – the MMU (teachers’ training college); senior citizens, Eccles College and of course, local schools. During the day you will often find senior citizens, parents, carers, students and visitors, working happily with the children.
Our purpose built community room is always busy. It is used by our: breakfast and after school care clubs; parent/toddler group; playgroups and adult education groups.
The school has a purpose built computer suite equipped with fifteen computers and monitors. The computers are linked to the Internet and there are extra computers in each classroom.
All the children (from Nursery to Year 6) enjoy swimming lessons. Juniors take part in ‘school hikes’ every summer and upper juniors engage in water sports. The year five children attend Lledr Hall outdoor education centre in North Wales for a residential week every year. The school provides a wide range of extra curricular activities for the children and is actively trying to involve more parents and carers in these activities.
Fiddlers Lane Primary School is very popular in the community and extra classrooms were added to the school in 1998 when the SAN number was increased from 34 to 45.
Fiddlers Lane is a very warm, open school that strongly values all members of the school community.
