We have high expectations at our school and we have made enormous progress in recent years, securing some of our best ever examination results and improving year upon year. Progress measures have regularly placed us in the top 5% of high performing schools within the country. We are immensely proud of these achievements and recognise the expertise and tremendous commitment of our staff. There can be no complacency and no ceiling to where we might aim to be in years to come and the Outstanding OFSTED report in 2011 will mean very little unless we fulfil our aspirations and ambitions. Academy conversion was a step in the right direction, it provides the springboard for future success and development. The new £20 million building that will transform education at the school will be fully open by early 2013. There are a wealth of opportunities for career progression in the school. The professional development of staff is given a high priority and close observers of the school will know this to be the case. The training and development of staff combined with the support that Senior Managers offer to staff makes this not only a successful school but a happy school. We are heavily over-subscribed with over 750 preferences for just 285 places in Year 7. Parents and visitors describe the care and behaviour within the school as excellent. This is a school where teachers can teach and pupils are free to learn. The students are dressed smartly and are proud to attend the school. As Headteacher of the school I do expect the very best from staff. I expect them to work hard and show a depth of commitment. I expect them to have high expectations and never settle for a second best.. In return I will do my utmost to ensure you enjoy a rewarding and satisfying career at the Academy.
