Penglais Comprehensive School
<p><br />Penglais is a very successful comprehensive school offering a high quality education to nearly 1,400 pupils including 330 in the sixth form. The school was established in 1973 and teaches mainly through the medium of English.</p>

<p>Penglais has all the advantages that a larger school can offer. These benefits include a greater range of subject choices at all levels, more specialist teaching and ancillary staff, and very good facilities.</p>
<p>Every pupil is supported and encouraged by our well-established system of Form Tutors and Heads of Year.</p>

<p>The School has also built up a reputation for excellent care for those pupils with Additional Learning Needs, including a Learning Support Centre for those pupils with severe and moderate learning difficulties in north Ceredigion.</p>
<p>Great emphasis is placed on the quality of teaching and learning. Our examination results are consistently well above national averages and attract national prominence.</p>
<p>There is also a strong musical tradition at the School and regular opportunities to take part in musicals and dramatic productions. There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities at Penglais including all main team games, many clubs and societies and a fantastic range of visits and exchanges. Field work and educational visits organized every year. The school celebrates the success of its pupils every December at an annual Prizes and Certificates Evening at the Great Hall in the university.</p>
