Alleyn's School
Alleyn's is regarded as a happy and friendly co-educational community in which everyone respects, supports and cares for everyone else. We have approximately 965 pupils in the Senior School (11-18) of whom 292 are in the Sixth Form.
There is a common curriculum in Year 7. Subjects taught include Art, Biology, Chamistry, Design Technology, English, French, Geography, History, ICT, Latin, Mathematics, Music, PE, Physics and Religious Studies. We offer 32 subjects at A level.
Pupils in Years 7 and 8 are under the care of the Head of the Lower School. From Years 9-13 responsibility for pastoral care lies with the Heads of Houses, Form Tutors and two Assistant Heads.
Alleyn's offers sport opportunities at all levels. In Music there are about 30 performing groups, and we usually have 3 or 4 main drama productions each year. All pupils join either the CCF, DofE Award Scheme or Community Service in Year 10.
The School has approximately 30 acres of grounds, with extensive playing fields and its own running track. There is an all weather sports area, swimming pool and a Sports Hall. Networked computers are available across the School site with broadband internet access. The library has been extended and refurbished. The School has recently undertaken a £13.5 million extension providing additional facilities for teaching, pastoral care and the performing arts.
