Abbotsford School

Abbotsford School

Abbotsford offers a wide curriculum in a caring and secure environment. All staff are experienced and well-qualified.

At Abbotsford our aim is to help each child achieve their potential by adopting a curriculum where their learning activities are planned to suit their individual ability. In addition to developing a child’s academic potential we regard meeting personal and social needs and promoting the acquisition of moral values of prime importance. We also aim to provide an environment in which pupils are happy, feel valued as individuals and learn to co-operate with one another. In this way pupils learn responsibility, which in later life will make them good citizens, able to contribute to the community in which they live.

Classes are relatively small to ensure that all children receive individual attention and can reach their potential. There is a flourishing Nursery Department.

A large extension has provided many extra facilities including a purpose-built IT room, Art, Design Technology and Science rooms. French is taught from the Nursery upwards. A large range of sports is undertaken: winner of Sports' Council Active Mark Gold Award. Winner of regional and national competitions in Design Technology, Art, Drama, Poetry and Story Writing.

The School is a member of the ISA. We have received excellent Ofsted Reports.

The School has excellent examination and scholarship results for entry into independent secondary schools in the area.

There is a wide range of extra curricular activities. Before and After School Care is provided from 7.50am and until 6pm during term time supplemented by a Holiday Club.
