Al-Furqan Primary School

Welcome to Al-Furqan Primary school. Our vision statement agreed by our school community is as follows:-

‘In a rapidly changing world young people need high levels of self-esteem and confidence to be adaptable and tolerant. It is our task to aspire to nurture those strengths through holistic development of the child by always stressing the point of excellence.’

Through our curriculum we aspire to:

 • Develop each child to their full potential

 • Ensure that all children feel valued and experience success

 • Equip children with basic skills in literacy and numeracy.

 • Provide an atmosphere which enables children to have good self esteem.

 • Help children to become independent, co operative, confident, active and reflective learners.

 • Foster in our children a caring thoughtful nature, leading them to become reliable, responsible members of society.

 • Equip children to take pride in and look after their surroundings.

 • Help children to take personal responsibility, make choices and develop purpose for their lives.

 •

Developing independent thinkers with a love of learning within an Islamic framework and achieving the right balance between hard work and fun is at the heart of all activities planned by the school community, Insha Allah (God Willing).

We believe that we need to ensure equal opportunities for all. We aim to eliminate discrimination of all kinds. All our children are encouraged to have a positive cultural identity. Our curriculum reflects the importance of the children’s culture, language and special needs. It is also vital that ALL our children should experience a full range of learning experiences/skills. Whilst the purpose of our school is to educate the children within an Islamic ethos, we also raise awareness of the fundamentals of some of the major world religions. Through learning about concepts of democracy, rights, responsibilities, community, justice as well as each other's beliefs and customs at school, we aim to develop in our children a tolerant and respectful attitude towards others in the wider communities of the city of Birmingham, in Britain and across the World.

Al Humdullillah (praise be to God), we are proud of the partnership between parents, children, staff, governors and the local community. We recognise that our success depends on all those who support our school.
