Altwood Church of England School
Welcome to Altwood Church of England Business & Enterprise College. It is my privilege to be the Headteacher of this thriving, highly successful, high achieving and very popular learning community. Together, students, parents and staff of Altwood have achieved great things. Year-on-year we have gone from strength to strength. Examination results are very impressive – 71.4% of students achieving 5 or more A* - C grades at GCSE this summer and ‘A’ Level students achieving a 100% pass rate. There are very many ways in which we enable our young people to excel academically and I warmly invite any families who are interested in finding out more about our exceptional and unique offer to visit us.
When you visit I feel you will immediately be able to identify what the essence of our school community is. Excitement about learning, enjoying academic challenge, focus on the individual, striving together for excellence and a strong Church School ethos will, I trust, be what is instantly evident.
I expect the best from all our pupils, I expect them to do their best so as to be the best. In turn I promise them the best educational experience they can possibly have. At Altwood Church of England Business & Enterprise College we have highly expert, experienced and committed staff who ensure that all pupils are enabled to realise our school’s motto of ‘Aspire & Achieve’.
When a child joins our school community we engage in a partnership and embark upon a journey. The home-school partnership is crucial to each child’s success, thus this is something we take much care to nurture and develop. The journey we begin together will be one spanning many years and will see your child leave their childhood and become young adults. At Altwood Church of England Business & Enterprise College we appreciate the significance of our responsibility when families become part of our community and entrust their child to our care. Due to the Christian values upon which our community is founded, we believe we are able to provide a rich, focused and balanced context within which young people are enabled to learn and excel not only academically, but also in respect of their spiritual, cultural and social development.
I hope you enjoy exploring our website http://www.altwoodschool.co.uk/index.asp which is constantly under review and development. It is an important means of communication for existing members of our school community and for those wanting to find out more about what it is like to be a young person learning and achieving at Altwood. Feedback is always most welcome. Effective communication ensures effective partnership and consequent success.
