Pimlico Academy
Pimlico Academy is a new all-ability non fee paying school for 11-19 year olds, opened in September 2008 and sponsored by Future, a registered charity.
Ofsted have judged the Academy as outstanding following a full section5 inspection on Wednesday 1st December and Thursday 2nd December 2010. The Academy was judged outstanding overall and in the vast majority of individual categories. Only 8% of schools nationally achieve an outstanding grade and this illustrates how far we have come in just over two years. The full report is available on our website.
The Academy has recently moved into a wonderful new £35 million building that provides an inspiring teaching and learning environment for staff and students.
We have a broad and balanced curriculum at the Academy which caters for the interests and talents of all our students. A wide range of academic and vocational subjects are on offer which are strengthened by an extensive range of extra-curricular and extended school activities including mentoring programmes, sports clubs and music lessons.
We strive to make the most of the Academy’s location in the heart of Westminster to make the curriculum more stimulating and enjoyable for students. In particular the cultural opportunities in the local vicinity are used to develop our specialisms in the Arts and History.
The Academy is a warm, caring environment where every student, parent and member of staff feels safe and welcome. We are creating an outstanding environment for teaching and learning where all staff feel supported and all students are challenged and encouraged to fulfill their potential. Here, we have an ethos of high expectations of achievement throughout every aspect of the Academy. We expect every student to do their best and we will give them every opportunity possible to help them succeed.
The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all members of staff to share this commitment. An enhanced CRB disclosure is required for all posts.
