The Borough of Bracknell Forest is an area in Berkshire, with beautiful countryside, first-rate leisure facilities, a wide choice of schools and an excellent range of housing.

Our last OfSTED inspection showed the Local Authority to be one of the most effective in the country.

Bracknell Forest Bracknell Forest LEA has provided education services to the people of the Borough since Bracknell Forest became a unitary authority in April 1998.

In Bracknell there are: -
- 6 secondary schools
- 30 primary schools
- 1 special school
- 1 pupil referral units

There is wide provision for children with special needs with one school equipped for moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties, including those associated with autism. Three of our primary and one secondary school have units specifically for pupils with special needs.

There are many different types of schools within this small and friendly LEA. Each school has its own characteristics and merits.
