An Introduction to St. Mary’sThe foundation of St. Mary’s dates back to 1707 when Church of England schooling first began in Hendon. We are proud of the sense of history and tradition which this brings to our school.Today’s St. Mary’s school community welcomes students from a range of Christian backgrounds and major world faiths, reflecting the rich diversity of the local area and of London as a whole.Christian values are at the heart of all that we do and each student is individually challenged to realise his or her full potential within our supportive and caring community. We have strong links with St. Mary’s and other local churches. As a Church of England school all parents are expected to support our Christian ethos; we do not expect them to exercise their right to withdraw students from daily assembly, religious education lessons or our regular services of Holy Communion.
