About Us
St. Benedict's is an 11-16 voluntary-aided, co-educational Catholic high school serving a very wide catchment area which includes Alcester, Bidford, Broadway, Evesham, Henley, Stratford, Studley, Redditch, Chipping Campden and all villages near these towns. The school was founded in 1963 and is blessed with a splendid eleven acre site close to the centre of the historic town of Alcester. There are over eighty well-qualified full-time and part-time members of staff who, in keeping with the aims of the school, will help provide our pupils with a spiritual, academic and pastoral environment which will enhance their growth in Christ, encourage them to achieve their full potential and assist them to develop as caring human beings. St. Benedict's pupils are encouraged to have respect for themselves, for others and for the world about them.
We gained national recognition from the DfEE in relation to our high standards with the award of Beacon Status which encouraged us to share our good practices with other educational institutions through the provision of a government grant.
We have received many other awards for consistantly high performance. Although important, these achievements are only part of our education. We aim as a school to educate the whole person to enable them to become individuals with values and commitment, as the Bible suggests.
Student/NQT Information
The school has a very supportive programme for NQTs working collaboratively with the l.e.a.
Newly appointed members of staff are encouraged to develop their own areas of interest and involve themselves in a wide range of school activities. Experience in managerial responsibilities within our small school environment is always encouraged for interested members of staff.
