Overview

Bryngwyn is a forward looking and innovative community focussed school with 1045 pupils aged 11 to 16. Our academic results are consistently high, and we endeavour to provide the best possible education for all of our pupils. Bryngwyn is well known throughout the area for its excellent pastoral care, support and guidance, and we want to equip all our pupils with the skills and qualities necessary to take them forward in life. Our school is a happy school and we want our pupils to enjoy themselves as they learn.

About Us

Ysgol Bryngwyn School is situated between the villages of Dafen and Felinfoel, some two miles from the centre of Llanelli. It is one of five Comprehensive Schools in the Llanelli Area. Three are English medium mixed (11-16) in character, one an 11-18 Welsh Bilingual School and the fifth is an 11-16 Roman Catholic V.A. Comprehensive School.Ysgol Bryngwyn School was opened in 1977, and stands in 32 acres of ground. At present the School population consists of over 990 pupils drawn from the feeder Schools of Hendy, Llangennech, Bryn, Brynteg, Dafen, Ysgol y Felin, Swiss Valley, Five Roads, Old Road, Furnace and Penygaer. However a number of pupils are drawn from Schools outside our catchment area, with as many as sixteen primary schools sending to Bryngwyn.
