Feltham Community College has a local and national reputation for being effective and innovative. This is reflected by the fact that in recent years the College has received three College Curriculum Awards. Most recently we have gained Specialist College status for Sport, with ICT, which began in Septemeber 2006. It is an exciting time for the college.Feltham is a purpose built community comprehensive college with 1,300 students on roll, including 200 in the Sixth Form. Since it opened in 1969, the College's facilities have been extensively extended and upgraded and now comprise large, well equipped departmental areas, a Sports Hall, a dance studio, Music and Drama Complex, and outstanding field and sports facilities. In addition, there is a well-equipped Library and an extensive whole college computer network. There is a newly refurbished Centre for Physically Disabled students, who are integrated into the college. The local community uses the College’s facilities extensively. In the summer of 2002 a brand City Learning Centre was opened adding a strong ICT dimension to the college. Recently the college was a pilot school for London Challenge and introduced interactive whiteboards into all classrooms and laptops for all teachers.The College is committed to providing a quality education that emphasises continual improvement for its students. Feltham Community College caters for students with a wide range of abilities, aptitudes and learning needs. Staff recognise and respond positively to the challenge of this learning diversity. We received an impressive OFSTED report, which identified teaching and learning as a major strength of the College. The College is proud of its achievements in the curriculum, winning three National Awards in 1987, 1992 and 1997. We were the first school in Hounslow to be awarded the Basic Skills Agency kite mark. An extensive Guidance and PSE programme supports an entitlement curriculum which meets the requirements of the National Curriculum. We constantly strive to place each child's development at the centre of our thoughts and actions. There is a strong vocational strand in KS4 and 5.A significant Sixth Form development in the last two years has been the introduction of GNVQ courses and the College's recognition as a centre for NNEB and becoming a CISCO Local Training Academy.Pastoral care is a strength of the school. The Year Groups are led by Heads of Learning. The form tutor group is the key unit for care and guidance. Tutors remain with their groups as they progress through the college. A large number of staff contribute to both College and Year Assemblies, which are held in high regard. A large Adult Education enrolment (over 2,500 students) and extensive sports use is serviced by a team of professional and support staff.
