<p>Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School supports parents in nurturing the faith of their children. We enable our students to grow in the love of God, to deepen their understanding of creation, and to pray and celebrate the sacraments. We provide opportunities to explore values and beliefs, to recognise the rights of others and respect those who have different beliefs.</p><p>We encourage questioning, reflection and growth in self-awareness and prepare students to think spiritually, ethically and theologically to develop their awareness of the benefits and challenges of religious commitment in daily life.</p><p>The existence of our own chapel demonstrates the commitment Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School has in ensuring that all students have the opportunity to grow in their faith.</p><p>Assemblies are an integral part of school life where the community joins together to pray and celebrate publicly the individual achievements of the students.</p>Archbishop Ilsley has nearly 100 teaching staff and a further 50 support staff of all types. We have a good reputation among the local community. There are good transport links into Birmingham and we are just 5 minutes drive from Solihull town centre. There are lots of good local schools including ourselves, in Birmingham and Solihull. We have many international links students each year travel to a partner school in Arizona USA, and have also had students in China and many parts of Europe on school exchange programmes. In addition to this there are numerous enrichment activites at school and further afield. We have a good reputation for developing staff and are in partnerhip with 9 teacher training colleges, as well as offering GTP programmes. Each year NQTs join us and there is a clear programme of support, we believe in investing in all our staff as a most important The school is based on one site, and although the site is small every space is used. The school has its own swimming pool, astro pitch, sports hall, gym and fitness centre. Each subject has its own ICT facility as well as their being 5 specific ICT rooms. Every room has access to a digital projector and most rooms have an interactive whiteboard (SMART). The school has its own radio station and its VLE is under development. We have a Behaviour Support Unit on site.
