Fernvale Primary School is a caring community of children, parents, staff and governors.  Together we continually strive to provide a happy and supportive environment in which the unique potential in every child is realised. We are ambitious for our pupils and our aim is for each child to become a confident, enthusiastic and independent learner, achieving their best. "Pupils’ achievement throughout the school is good and pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their schooling. Children make good progress in the Reception class, where they benefit from a wide mix of exciting work. Pupils continue to make good progress as they move up the school. They reach above-average standards when they leave school in Year 5. Good teaching helps pupils to build on their skills year by year. Teachers provide pupils with work that is interesting, relevant and challenging."

At Fernvale Primary School we are very proud to be going for our third consecutive International Schools Award. This award is given to schools that include an international dimension into their curriculum and have strong links set up with schools abroad.

We have been re accredited with International School Status because of the links we have forged with other European schools and the work we have done to celebrate our international school communities.

We are part of the Comenius Project and have strong links with partner schools in France, Italy and Germany with reciprocal visits having been made by pupils in previous years.

We develop children's cultural knowledge and understanding and celebrate our international element through many events and activities

On Tuesday 13th January 2015, 21 children from year 4 and year 5 travelled to Birmingham to attend the Young Voices Concert in the LG Arena. The children worked very hard for a number of weeks after school to learn the large number of songs.

The children became part of a 6000 strong children's choir and sang the songs extremely well and were a credit to the school.
