Frisby is a C of E (Controlled) School and is Coeducational. The building was opened in 1975.
There are four mixed ability classes which are organised by Year Groups.
Throughout the School we aim to provide as broad a curriculum as possible on which to base the children's educational and social development. To this end particular attention is given to the core-curriculum areas of Maths, English, Science, Information Technology and Religious Education. All foundation areas, Music, Art, PE, Geography, Technology and History are included. There is also time within the curriculum for Swimming, Cookery, Dance, Drama, Project Work, Personal and Social Education. Health Education will be included at an appropriate level.
We have a set of laptops which are used throughout the School, as part of, and integrated into, the general curriculum. The School is linked up to the internet for curriculum purposes and each class has an interactive whiteboard.
Our goal is to provide an equal opportunity for all pupils to experience the different activities offered in School in an attempt to prevent gender stereotyping. We are aware of the pluralistic nature of our society and develop and encourage an awareness and appreciation in our pupils of the diversity and value of the varying cultural and religious backgrounds.
On June 1st 2013 the school converted to an academy and alongside 5 other local primary schools we are now part of the Melton Lynx Academies Local Collaborative Trust.
