As a Church-in-Wales High School, we aim to provide an education based on clear Christian principles. "Education with Care" is our school motto and this underpins everything that we do. Members of staff are appointed by the Governors, and are all committed to upholding our ethos. In the middle of the school is our chapel, a place for quiet reflection in the centre of our busy lives. Founded in 1966 as an 11-16 voluntary aided Church-in-Wales High School, St Teilo's has grown to become a large and very popular 11-18 school of 1400 students. It serves the eastern half of the city of Cardiff, and draws its students from a wide range of backgrounds. Above all, St Teilo's is a friendly and happy school, in which we aim to ensure that each student is treated as an individual and given every opportunity to succeed. There are many opportunities for students to flourish and develop their interests; we have a wealth of extra-curricular clubs and societies ranging from art to music, and sport to computers. We offer a very full curriculum with a wide range of choices for our students both at Key Stage 4 (for GCSE), and in the Sixth Form. The school has recently moved to a state of the art new building that enhances learning and creates a sense of belonging for all those within it; providing an experience where students and staff will be surrounded by an environment that stimulates, enriches and cares for all those it embraces.
