About Us

WHO WE ARE

Preston School is a highly successful 11-16 Specialist Business and Enterprise Academy in Yeovil, Somerset.

We believe that in order to enable learners to reach their full potential and for their unique talents to be nurtured and developed, there needs to be an on-going partnership and dialogue between home and school that provides the foundation for learning and achievement. If students are to learn effectively, they need to be healthy, feel safe, and be happy and secure in school; we must all play our part in achieving this. Our objective is to guarantee success for every individual and much of what we do is designed to find the key that unlocks their interests and skills, enabling them to be successful both at Preston School and beyond.

In addition to high standards of academic achievement, and through our embedded Business and Enterprise status, all learners have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting, cultural and enterprise activities. It is through these activities that students further develop other important skills such as leadership, creativity, problem solving and cross-cultural literacy, ensuring that we give all our students the very best preparation for a life of change in the 21st century.

Ofsted - Preston School is a 'Good' School

Everyone at Preston School is celebrating, after the school’s latest Ofsted inspection was published and it shows that Preston is graded a ‘good’ school.

‘We are naturally delighted that Ofsted have recognised what we have known for some time, that Preston is a good school. I am so pleased for the staff, students and governors who have all worked so hard to improve the school that this has been officially recognised. Despite our improvements being formally recognised, we are still keen to keep improving the school and will continue to work tirelessly to do so, as this is what our students deserve.’ Gregg Morrison, Principal

‘The Ofsted report is just reward for the hard work of all at Preston School from the school staff and leadership team, through to the students and their parents, all of whom have ensured the best outcomes for the students. My thanks go to all current and past staff, governors and students who have all contributed to this achievement which recognises exactly what Preston is, a good school. Tommy Byrne, Chair of Governors
