We are a good school striving to become outstanding. We aim to take excellent care of children in our community and provide them with an outstanding education. Our children move on to high school as successful, well-behaved and confident learners.
We have a wonderful new building providing an exciting and nurturing place to learn. In that building we have the best of old and new. There is an excellent reading scheme library to launch our early readers. We also have over 200 iPads and 30 children’s PCs so that children can become confident using technology early on.
We have a great staff of committed teachers supported by caring classroom assistants. A pastoral care team of three to meet children’s personal needs and that safeguarding is of a high standard. The school has four senior staff trained to designated teacher level for child protection.
This year we are predicting our best ever Year 6 attainment results. We expect that over 90% of the children will gain a good level (4B+) ready for high school. Well over 50% will gain a Level 5 in mathematics. To make sure the needs and wishes of the children are central to all that we do we have a school council. We involve children in discussions about their school such as the design of the building. So that children have a rounded education we have sports teams, art clubs, an orchestra and choirs.
