BMGS was founded in 1987 as an Independent Islamic Girls’ School by Bolton Muslim Welfare Trust. The Trustees had a vision that their daughters realised their academic, spiritual and moral excellence in a welcoming, secure, supportive and Islamic environment. The school status changed from an Independent Islamic School to a Voluntary Aided School in 2007. BMGS has grown over the years to become a large and very popular 11-16 school comprising of 600 learners. It serves the local community, and draws its learners from a wide range of backgrounds. The school’s original vision still provides an inspiration for us and sits alongside our absolute commitment to providing the best for our learners in the 21st Century.
We, at BMGS School, provide a personalised curriculum supported through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities that allows enrichment and character building. We believe our daughters to be the future ambassadors of Islam and mothers of the next generation. Therefore, it is vital we educate, nurture and support each individual learner; academically, spiritually, emotionally and socially during their time here. We equip learners with lifelong skills and attitudes which will prepare them to be strong Muslimahs that will benefit the Ummah and wider society.
At BMGS our committed staff, governors and Trustees work hard to ensure a purposeful, harmonious atmosphere in which all learners will thrive and learn well. Our broad and balanced curriculum ensures it meets the needs of all learners as they progress through their five years in our care, providing opportunities for enrichment to develop their potential and become successful, independent young British Muslimahs.
Ours is a school where every learner and adult matters, and where we foster positive and lasting partnerships within the school, with parents/carers, local communities, local Masjids and other charitable and voluntary organisations
Bolton Muslim Girls School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
