Cordwalles Junior School is a 2 form entry school which promotes inclusion and mutual respect within a safe, caring and stimulating environment. We cater for children between 7 and 11 years of age and have a spacious, well-resourced building and extensive grounds. Over the summer we embarked upon a major redevelopment programme to create engaging learning environments across the school. The staff have embraced their learning themes and made their own classrooms magical experiences for the children. As you walk around the school, you will be transported from Wonderland, through enchanted forests, into castles and take a leap of faith by walking through a wardrobe into Narnia! Outside we have four playground areas, a large playing field with long jump and high jump pits, a sensory garden, pond/environmental area and allotment.
We consider ourselves to be a moving school – our mission is to provide outstanding education for all the children in our school community. At Cordwalles Junior School we believe that education is a unique experience which should equip children with all the skills they need to be successful, active members of their community and to enjoy all that the 21st Century has to offer.
Our philosophy is clear - if children are enjoying what they are doing, they will learn. Our aim is that children will be engaged in learning that develops their knowledge, skills and understanding, challenges them, excites their imagination and fosters creativity. We believe that children should have high expectations of themselves, be proud of their achievements and respect others.
