Danielle Louise Clayfield is NQT Community Manager at Eteach. Dani works with NQTs to support them in finding the job they want in the location they want.
How can Eteach help a newly qualified teacher?
I encourage NQTs to join the Eteach community and support them in finding their dream job.
I’ll create a free Eteach account for you if you do not already have one and through your account you can set up job alerts that give you notifications of job opportunities in the area of your choice – in the UK or abroad in Europe, the Middle East or South East Asia.
When I follow up with NQTs, I try to help flesh out their CV and profile.
Many think they do not have a great deal to say to an employer because they are at the start of their career but often they haven’t had the benefit of a recruiter’s insight. We work together to verbalise all the responsibilities and specialisms they may have accrued over the years.
What about completing NQT induction?
When appointing an NQT, schools must select an Appropriate Body who quality assure the induction period. This ensures that NQTs are supported correctly, in line with statutory guidance and that the assessment process is fair and consistent across schools.
We are delighted that Educational Success Partners (ESP) are the Appropriate Body partner of Eteach.
The highly experienced NQT team at ESP, led by Izzy Hall (NQT and Teacher Development Director) supports around 450 NQTs a year through their induction period. This service is available to all maintained schools and academies in England and to British Schools Overseas, which is how we have made it possible for you to do your induction year overseas now.
What about career progression?
When you register with Eteach, you will be supported throughout your career. Working with Eteach does not restrict your possibilities as we can look for and promote you for any positions that become available that will allow you to progress.
We are now trusted by over 7,500 schools and colleges and last year our job boards advertised more than 65,000 jobs to our 1.8 million registered candidates, who make more than 1 million site visits to us each month.
What makes Eteach different from other agencies?
Eteach was set up by an entrepreneurial teacher who had an idea that teacher recruitment and retention could be done better. That teacher, Paul Howells, is still at the helm, so our core values are consistent.
One of the innovative things that Paul did was use the power of the web to make recruitment better for both the employer and the candidate. This investment in technology to deliver great outcomes continues today.
The tech helps us deliver on our commitment to place the right candidates with the right schools, getting a fit that works for everybody.
This is just one way in which we can ensure we put our expertise in educational recruitment to work.
Our website has a wealth of material and resources that trainee and full-time teachers will find useful and interesting. There’s handy information about preparing for interviews, classroom tips and education news, for example. Once you’re registered with Eteach and have an account, this wider service opens up to you.
There’s much more to Eteach than the job postings!
How do I register for the NQT service with Eteach?

You’ll get support with your CV and personal statement and then your details can be forwarded to the right UK or international consultant who is in direct contact with schools that may be looking for what you have to offer.
