What's new to Eteach in May 2020?
The Eteach development team have been working tirelessly to improve and upgrade our job boards and market-leading Client Portal in our continued quest to provide schools and colleges with the best recruitment software. Find out what's improved this May.
Application confirmation emails
Communication with your candidates is key - that's why we've built in the application confirmation email to the Client Portal which sends automatically to an applicant. This May, we've developed our application confirmation functionality to allow you to write a custom application confirmation email for each vacancy.
Your default application confirmation text will now pull through to each vacancy that you're creating under the Application stage, giving you the ability to personalise this first communication with your candidates on a vacancy-by-vacancy level. If you make a change to the default text on a vacancy, we have also given you the option to override this as the new default text.
This is particularly useful in this current time, where you may want to include information about video software and remote interviewing functionality. Why not log in to your Client Portal to see it for yourself?
Improved user interface for candidates on mobile devices
We are seeing more and more candidates search and apply for jobs on mobile devices, with over two thirds of all traffic to our job board now coming from a mobile device.
Because of this increase in mobile users, we've improved the navigation on the job board to create a seamless experience for candidates on a mobile or tablet device. We've made key changes to ensure that mobile users can find what they are looking for whilst making fewer clicks. This will increase the number of candidates looking at jobs that are relevant to them.
This large proportion of mobile browsers is one of the reasons why we recommend our mobile-friendly online application form to our customers. Our online application form allows candidates on any device to "fast-apply" to your vacancy, as their details are auto-filled into the application form from their profile.
Have you tried to apply for one of your school's jobs on a mobile device? We would recommend reviewing the candidate journey from start to finish to see how easy it is for candidates to apply when browsing on their mobile phone.
@mentions
Collaboration with members of your recruiting team is key when making important decisions around candidate suitability. Now more than ever with school closures and working from home this collaboration is even more vital.
All premium customers can now benefit from our fully integrated @mention and messaging system which allows you to tag your colleagues whilst communicating and making notes on your vacancies and candidates. You can do this in the Notes tab under any Vacancy, Candidate or Application that you have access to.
When you tag a member of your team, they will be notified immediately via email, allowing them to jump straight into the note. This will help ensure that all relevant persons stay in the loop with key conversations and decision making.

Welsh language improvements
For all our customers that require Welsh language versions on their job adverts, you'll be pleased to hear that we've improved the Welsh translations on the job page, including in the job detail box directly under the job title. This will help to create a smoother application process for our Welsh-speaking candidates.
Coming up
As we continue to roll out improvements to our Client Portal and job board, you may notice more changes and begin to reap the benefits of increased applications, more candidates joining your Talent Pools and ease of candidate management. Further updates will be posted in June’s Product Update as we continue to and keep Eteach at the forefront of education recruitment.
