"Welcome to Fairlawn Primary School.

Opened in September 2015 as a new school, Fairlawn Primary School, a member of E-ACT, is very proud to continue the long history of educating children in the magnificent buildings that were once a Victorian grammar school.

The children’s wellbeing and holistic development is at the heart of everything we do. The school day is designed to build confidence and skills in all aspects of child development. We believe that all our children are unique and have special talents to bring to our school community. We provide an engaging environment in which our children can be successful and feel happy to take risks, explore and ask questions.

I am proud to lead a passionate and caring team who are committed to achieving high standards and providing the best opportunities for our children.

Our knowledge rich curriculum focusses on our school, our community and our city. Designed to develop a deep sense of identity, pride, belonging and understanding of the world.

We ensure that our children understand their rights through the ‘Rights Respecting’ award from UNICEF. We are devoted to inspiring our children through the power of this programme, so they grow into respectful and caring members of society.

Fairlawn Primary School is a diverse school with the strong support of dedicated governors and an active PTA (Parents and Teachers Association – Friends of Fairlawn); the community is thriving and we welcome you to visit to find out more for yourself."

Ethos & Values

Preparing for the future, shaping the future

6.jpg

At Fairlawn, we want to ensure that the choices we make as a school are steps towards children developing the knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the future.

The ‘Fairlawn Child’ will develop their character and personality on a clear understanding of our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Curiosity and Resilience.

These values underpin the way all members of our community treat each other and respond to everyday situations as well as moments of challenge.

There is a strong focus on the holistic development of children and working with families to ensure Fairlawn children feel safe, happy and become curious and successful learners.

We are proud to be a part of E-ACT

We are proud to be one of 28 E-ACT academies in England

Our community includes over 18,000 pupils and 2,300 teachers and non-teaching professionals across the country.

What it means to be part of E-ACT

As an E-ACT academy we share ideas with other academies in the trust in ways other schools may not be able to. Our pupils and staff also feel part of something much bigger.

E-ACT academies also have support from people across the trust who help us to make things even better for our children.

An E-ACT Academy in Birmingham, E-ACT Heartlands Academy, was ranked one of the best secondary schools in the country and was named School of the Year at the Times Educational Supplement schools awards in 2020.

Think big, show team spirit, do the right thing

We believe that young people should never be held back from achieving great things.

By encouraging them to think big and believe that anything is possible, by showing them the importance of team spirit and by supporting them to carefully think through decisions to do the right thing, we know that every one of our pupils can realise their full potential.
