SEN Teaching Assistant  (Education and Medical)

£18,955.00 - £22,416.00 Annually (Actual)

FTE Grade E £25,528 - £30,189 (Actual 31.25 hrs per week, term time only)

About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our small and friendly team. The position is to support a child with medical needs on a 1:1 within the class and across break times to achieve their very best. The position is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2025 with a possible extension after this date.

Skills, qualities and experience:·

  • A passion and enthusiasm to work with children
  • Experience of working with children is desirable
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated
  • Able to show initiative
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations
  • Be dedicated to safeguarding children
  • Good level of education (GCSE maths and English A-C or equivalent)

Roles and responsibilities

  • Support a child with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis due to medical needs
  • Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENco
  • Maintain records for the pupil
  • Liaise with the school staff and parents
  • Provide break and lunchtime supervision
  • Carry out training as required for the role
