Welcome

We believe firmly in the potential of all children to achieve and are committed to creating a school full of opportunities and support to ensure every child achieves the best they can.

Kindness and integrity are values which we place above all others and we promise to work hard to teach all children the importance of staying true to these principles whilst they endeavour to achieve their very best.

We recognise the importance of outcomes and helping students to succeed academically; we also seek to develop character by developing aspirational and resilient young people who are well equipped for all the challenges of modern life.

By choosing Abbeyfield, you will be choosing a school which places a high priority on pupil well-being. Having students in the right place emotionally gives them the greatest chance of achieving their own academic excellence. By supporting all of our young people to be self-assured and confident in who they are will ensure they leave us with exciting futures.

About Us

Abbeyfield School is a fantastic building to work and learn in, it has all the facilities you would expect from a modern purpose built secondary school including all weather pitches, drama and dance studios, modern IT suites and open indoor and outdoor spaces for students to socialise and grow in. The school benefits from expansive outdoor space and green areas giving students space to get outdoors and to be active. Despite the popularity of the school we remain the smaller of the three Chippenham schools which ensures we can really get to know each child and what makes them tick. Pupils perform strongly at Abbeyfield and we have consistently achieved excellent outcomes both at GCSE and Sixth form where our results have put us in the top 15% of Schools Nationally.

Abbeyfield School prides itself on being ‘Big enough to make a difference, yet small enough to know each child.’

As a school we aim to support students by:

• Being committed to creating opportunities to ensure every child achieves the best that they can.

• Encouraging students to develop character, resilience and to be aspirational.

• Being committed to student welfare.
