An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the English team at Abbeyfield School. The successful applicant will have the exciting opportunity to work within a highly experienced and motivated team who are fully committed to ensuring all staff and students fulfil their potential and continue to enjoy enviable success. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates that have experience of teaching KS5 in either A Level English Language, Literature or Media Studies. Please note that there will be a requirement to deliver lessons at KS5.
The English department outcomes have been consistently good for students for several years with results rising. The team are experienced and driven by ensuring that students reach the best possible outcomes. A wide range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities are offered to support students’ learning and to enhance their love for Literature at KS3. Whilst KS4 benefit from Author visits and theatre trips and thriving numbers in all our KS5 groups. The department follows the AQA qualification at both GCSE and A Level for Language, Literature and Media Studies.
ECTs are welcome to apply for these posts and will benefit greatly from a supportive and enthusiastic team. All our staff receive professional CPD opportunities much of which draws on our links with the North Wiltshire Schools Teaching Alliance. As a flexible employer, part time applicants will be considered.
