We are looking to appoint a skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our successful Mathematics department and wider school community. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is confident in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, and who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to students’ progress and outcomes.
This role is 19.5 hours per week. Typical daily hours are 8.30 am – 3.30 pm* however, the working pattern can be agreed with the successful candidate to balance individual circumstances with the needs of students and the Maths department (eg spread over five mornings, or a combination of full and half days). Some flexibility may be required during busier periods and to support absence cover.
This is a temporary role to provide cover within the department. Whilst the position is initially fixed-term, there may be potential for this to become permanent, subject to staffing requirements.

The successful post holder will:-
• Have the ability to support the delivery of high-quality mathematics provision, including preparing and adapting resources where needed.
• Be able to motivate and engage young people, acting as a positive and consistent role model.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, alongside good organisational and ICT skills.
• Show excellent accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when supporting students’ learning and progress.
• Have a resilient mind-set and maintain a positive approach when working with students, including in more challenging situations.
• Be able to lead learning activities and small group work independently to support progress in mathematics.
• Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work, responding to the needs of students and the department.
• Play a proactive role within the Maths department, contributing to departmental and whole-school priorities.
