About Us

AHA-E24-29578-lr.jpg

Ashby Hastings Primary School opened for its first cohort of pupils in September 2021 (also known as Reception, FS2 and 4+ pupils). The school will continue to grow year by year as demand for year groups grow.

The school is a one-form entry which means that there will be one class per year group with no more than 30 pupils in each class. We have a beautiful eco-friendly school with bespoke-designed grounds which offer ample space for outdoor learning and sport for our pupils.

At Ashby Hastings, we aim to offer a rich and engaging school experience that inspires the children to achieve their full potential in all they do. We want them to become resilient, positive, curious learners who adopt determination to succeed. Our children will be equipped with the skills and mind-set to thrive and will develop their resilience in life. This resilience will be wider than education and we aim to prepare our children to have the necessary skills to be successful in 21st century life.

Children will be valued, empowered and challenged to achieve their potential and excel in their achievements.

What Makes Us Unique

Modern School

Our new school features state-of-the-art facilities and technology. The modern design facilitates an enhanced overall learning experience for children, providing opportunities for innovative teaching methods and engaging educational experiences inside and out.

Sport

Participating in sport promotes healthy habits and physical fitness, enhancing overall well-being. It also builds self-confidence, resilience and self-esteem as children overcome challenges and achieve success. Sports provide a constructive outlet for stress and help manage emotions. At Ashby Hastings, we foster active lifestyles and aim for children to develop lifelong habits of physical activity while having fun! We are part of the North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership and will participate in competitions when they are available to our year groups. We compete in NW Leicestershire Cross Country League each year – all children are invited to run.

Music

At Ashby Hastings we feel music enriches students’ lives by nurturing our children’s creativity, intellect, social skills, cultural awareness and emotional well-being, laying the foundation for an appreciation of music and the arts.

Forest School

Forest schools provide an holistic supportive and inclusive environment for social interaction and emotional growth. Children learn to collaborate, communicate and cooperate with their peers in natural settings, developing important social skills such as teamwork and empathy. Spending time in nature also promotes emotional resilience and well-being.

Trips and Residentials

At our school, we believe in enriching the educational experience with hands-on learning beyond the classroom. Every year, each class enjoys exciting school trips that complement their studies, offering a chance to explore new places and ideas. Additionally, our Class 4 and Class 6 pupils look forward to special residential trips, where they build independence, teamwork, and lifelong memories in a fun and supportive environment.
