We are so pleased to welcome you to our happy, vibrant, three-form entry Church of England primary school in the heart of Walton-on-Thames: part of the Good Shepherd Trust.
We are proud of what is behind these green gates and the educational journey we take our pupils on as they learn to CARE for one another, the environment and the wider community, CHALLENGE themselves and EXPLORE life’s big questions.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all the children at all times.
- Supervise our children at After School Club, engaging with them in aspects of play and conversation.
- Plan and lead craft activities.
- Meet and greet parents.
- Develop quality play and activities, ensuring the engagement of all children, specific to their individual needs through a variety of play opportunities.
- Implement playworker principles and the EYFS statutory framework, and general childcare requirements.
- Monitor homework activities, where appropriate.
- Serving of prepared refreshments.
- Ensure understanding and appropriate implementation of all the School’s policies and procedures. We would provide all the relevant training required; however, we do require the candidate to have good literacy and numeracy skills. The candidate should be motivated and enjoy working with children.
The Good Shepherd Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We ensure that all our employment practices share this commitment.
Please note that we shall take up references before the interview. It is essential therefore, that all reference details supplied are correct, up to date and include a current e-mail address.
The GST is a multi-academy trust serving 24 schools within the Diocese of Guildford across Surrey and Hampshire. Our trust comprises both primary and secondary schools, schools affiliated to the Church of England and others who are not. Our purpose is to grow and maintain a strong network of schools within a highly supportive and sharing network: we know that schools are better when they work together sharing common values and goals. Opportunities for staff development are a key priority for us - as a member of support staff, as a teacher, as a head teacher or as a local committee member you will have access to wide and varied professional development.
We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment “to be better, together”. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit. We are always open to discussing flexible working options.
Please note that we reserve the right to interview on application should a suitable candidate apply and we have the right to withdraw this advert prior to the closing date. You are therefore strongly encouraged to apply for the role as soon as possible.
