Equine Yard/Facilities Supervisor

£17,274 (SP10), per annum, pro-rata
Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Equine Facilities Supervisor with industry experience, friendly personality, ability to teach students industry standards to join our equine department based on the yard here at our York campus. This role will be working 14.8 hrs a week, ideally 8am to 4.30pm on Sunday and Monday, however flexibility may be available for the right candidate. This is a permanent, full year role, reporting to the Equine Facilities Manager.
The successful candidate will take charge of yards duties in the morning and evening, during the day caring for the horses and supervising students. The candidate will lead by example working to industry standard with a positive can do attitude working successfully alone or as part of a team.
Educated to level 3 or above in a relevant subject, candidates should hold a formal Equine qualification whether BHS, L3 apprentice or equivalent, First Aid Cert is also desirable. You will have the ability to engage with students to educate them about horse management and care. You will be able to competently lunge horses for exercise and ride if appropriate.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
