Part time - 14.8 hours (2 days) Fixed Term until 30th June 2022

Salary - £27,015 - £29,523 (SP26-SP29) per annum, pro-rata, dependent on experience

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.

Due to an increased intake this September we have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Farm Mechanisation and related subjects, to join our Agriculture Department here at our York campus. This role will be working 14.8 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 31st July 2022.

Our Agri-tech Workshops and Farm Mechanisation courses are well resourced, with a range of modern operational equipment and specialist vehicles available for workshop tasks. Taught modules will include ATV and RTFL operation and repair, Spreaders and Sprayers and Repair units such as drilling, cultivation and harvesting equipment.

As one of the largest, specialist land-based colleges in the U.K over recent years, we have a new strategy for the next decade, emphasising our commitment to a technical and professional land-based curriculum, outstanding resources that deliver an exceptional and inclusive student experience and contributing to the circular economy and sustainable developments are embedded into college life.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach, inspire and communicate with a range of student abilities and learning styles. A can-do attitude and flexible approach to the role is essential. We feel we can offer an interesting and rewarding role as part of an effective, vibrant and growing team.

Educated to degree level or relevant industry experience, candidates should hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards). With excellent knowledge and practical skills in farm mechanisation, you will have a passion for inspiring and leading student-led learning to ensure their future success and progression into industry. Competency certificates in ATV, RTFL are advantageous but not essential.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
