Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college situated in York. We have a brilliant BIAZA zoological facility which opens to guests on weekends and school holidays. During the week we are open for school visits and Wildlife programmes.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Wildlife Park Education Officer with a passion for animals and the natural world!

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic candidate with a passion for wildlife. Our Education department umbrellas many different sub categories which offer self-development in each area. Areas include: School workshops, Animal Talks, Animal Encounters, Wildlife programmes, Social Media and Marketing, Events, Visitor services and our Retail Store. The ideal candidate will be willing to develop themselves, contribute ideas, be able to work alone and as a team.

The ideal candidate will have great customer service skills to join our Wildlife Park Team. This role will be working on a variable hour contract, hours vary depending on Wildlife Park activity. Work will include weekends, holidays and evenings. This role may also cover term time to assist with schools and educational programmes.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and have a passion for the natural world and animals, you will be able to follow instructions and have health and safety always in mind.

Duties include being a welcoming face at front of house and helping to run our educational events throughout the year. From hosting schools/groups, public talks, to assisting with social media content, input ideas for educational interp and deliver excellent animal experiences for our guests.

Educated to Level 2 or above in a relevant subject, with a Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualification, in return you will receive a generous holiday allowance, ample free parking, canteen facilitates and a range of employee benefits.
