Floristry Lecturer

Casual Contract

Middlesbrough Campus

Salary: £20.93 per hour

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.

We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Arboriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Professional Tree Surgery, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness and Uniformed Public Services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Floristry tutor to deliver a range of adult learning classes at our Stewart Park Campus based at Middlesbrough. The tutor will be able to deliver courses for the absolute beginner through to more advanced classes that support the progression of the learner's skills and mastery of the art of floral design. Our learners have varying reasons for attending the course these can be starting as a hobby or those wishing to develop into a career as a florist.

The college will be providing evening classes at NCFE level 1 in floristry and experience of teaching is desirable. Having access to your own flowers and materials is also desirable but would not be an essential for the successful candidate. We hope to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate tutor who can excite and challenge the learner to create arrangements relevant to the season or occasion.

We define the values and qualities that we require from our people using the Askham Bryan College DNA. Hardwired in to what we do, our DNA strands ensure that all colleagues are committed to delivering with purpose, taking ownership, building trust and always learning. We offer an inclusive, dynamic, challenging and rewarding place to work.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
