Budmouth Academy is a Secondary school near the wonderful coastline in Weymouth. We follow the ‘schools within schools’ structure and we have the only Sixth Form in the Weymouth and Portland area, meaning that we have the privilege of taking children from aged 11 right through to 18, and our excellent provision ensures that they are ready for the adult world. Budmouth also has a Student Support Centre and a Learning Support Centre, which are key parts of the school, where we provide extra support to students with a number of things including mental health and well-being. We work hard to establish a caring, supportive culture, underpinned by development opportunities for staff at all stages of their careers. Our Senior Leadership Team support the staff on this journey and lead on ensuring that career development is achieved by a wide range of profession development opportunities.
Applications are invited for Examination Invigilators on a casual, as & when basis at various times throughout the year. Numbers of hours per week/month are flexible depending on the exam timetable. The main exam periods are during January, May and June and the mock exams are in February, March and November. Your working day during these periods will be either whole or part day sessions, some of which may start before 8.30am and end after 3.00pm.
As an Exam Invigilator you will be assisting the Examination Office with the conduct of public examinations in accordance with strict regulations supervising candidates who are taking public examinations acting strictly in the accordance with the regulations by the Joint Council for Qualifications and also in accordance with the Academy Policy for the conduct of internal and externa examinations.
Full training will be provided, and you will be joining a team of experienced invigilators already in post. IT familiarity would be an advantage but not a necessity.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who is able to use a range of strategies when dealing with young people. You must have some understanding of Data Protection and it would be an advantage if you have worked in or with a school setting previously but that is not essential.
