PPA Cover

Jewell Academy – Bournemouth

Salary – MS

Working hours – 8.30pm-4.30pm 3 days a week (0.6)

Fixed term until 31st August 2022

Start January 2022

Jewell Academy Bournemouth opened in September 2013 as a brand-new school, serving the Townsend area of Bournemouth and operating as part of the growing Aspirations Academies Trust. We grew from a two-year school in 2013 to a full school by 2019 and have a full preschool on site. We have a wonderful close-knit team here at Jewell and we support our staff with their career progression by offering innovative and targeted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities so they can get where they want to be.

Do you aim to deliver authentic, quality primary education in an efficient and interactive way, enabling children to develop the skills for success in the 21st century? If so, then we would really like to meet you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated PPA Cover to join our amazing team. You should be a positive and enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to strive for their best.

As PPA cover, your role is vital to teaching classes where required from Reception up to Year 6 to enable Teachers to take leadership time. This will be on a weekly timetable and you will need to plan and organise those classes in the absence of the Teacher.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience working across all primary year groups, with Year 6 being a focus, and can balance using their own initiative with working as part of a dedicated and supportive team. In return we can offer a strong team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff, engaged children who are keen to learn and a supportive wider school community.

If the successful candidate is an Early Careers Teacher (ECT), a thorough induction programme will be in place and led by Teach First, supported by capable mentors in school and across the Trust.

Our curriculum follows the Aspirations ‘No Limits’ approach with a philosophy that the curriculum delivered should provide an authentic education for the world today. Our children need to develop and build on the knowledge and skills that will ensure their education prepares them for all stages of school life and beyond.

Visits to our academy are welcomed and encouraged and we look forward to meeting you (COVID secure processes are in place). Further details can be requested from the school office and we will be happy to speak with you via telephone or Google Hangouts.

For more detailed information about the role, please find attached the job application pack.

Closing date – Monday 6th December at midday

Interview date – Likely to be 9th or 10th December
