Teacher of History

We require a well-qualified History teacher who has a passion for teaching History and enabling the progression of our students. We are looking for an individual able to fulfil a team role that will complement the energy, dynamism and originality of thought present in our established team.

This post would suit an NQT or a teacher of experience, and as your professional development is important to us, there are highly supportive induction programmes and CPD opportunities available during your time at the school.

Budmouth Academy has a large and successful sixth form. Within Humanities History is responsible for delivering KS5 History and Sociology, opportunities to promote and teach these popular choices will be an integral part of the post and experience in these areas is desirable but not essential.

Our current team offer a range of extra-curricular support sessions to ensure students reach their full potential, and if successful, we would hope that you would share this ethic.

The school overlooks the Jurassic coast and within such inspiring surroundings a commitment to teaching through wider learning experiences and fieldwork is essential. Budmouth’s location within a world heritage site is ideally situated to many aspects of Geographical and Historical enquiry and the department strives to provide learning opportunities that take advantage of this whilst continuing to explore further a-field with educational trips to Iceland, The Somme and New York embarked upon over the past four years.

Budmouth Academy Weymouth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

If you have not heard from us by 30th April 2021 then please assume that on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.
