Livingstone Academy Bournemouth (LAB) is an innovative new STEAM school for children aged 4 - 18 which opened in September 2021 in the heart of Bournemouth. Named after the Patron of the school Ian Livingstone CBE, our ambition is to ensure that all young people leave school equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in their future lives and careers in the digital age. LAB is going into its second year in a new building complex in Lansdowne in Central Bournemouth serving Reception, Years 1, 7 and 8 with up to 400 students. By September 2023 when all buildings are completed, we will expand our capacity to 1510 students, serving all ages from 4 to 18.

Are you creative, ambitious and have previous experience or a passion to work with children? Do you want to foster real-life learning experiences, high levels of engagement and deep learning that respects each child as a unique competent individual?

If you answered yes, then this could be the job for you!

We are now looking to recruit to a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant – Year 7 (Secondary) to start as soon as possible.

Reporting to the Principal, the LSA will play a key part in supporting students and staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.

As a Secondary LSA you will work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils, promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion, lead planned interventions as directed by the class teacher and be responsible for safeguarding children adhering to the rules of confidentiality. We want to ensure that the right support is given to pupils individually or in groups so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

We are looking specifically for someone to provide support in class predominantly to a child on a one-to-one basis who has autism. Experience of working with a child with SEND needs would be desired.

The Successful candidate will ideally have an ELSA qualification (or be willing to complete this training in the first year), must have a minimum grade C in both GCSE in Maths and English and a high level of written and spoken English and Maths

If you consider you are the right person for this role and would like to be a part of the team at such an exciting time, then it would be great to hear from you.
