Northmead Junior School (part of the Athena Multi-Academy Schools Trust) are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of children.
This is a temporary position, to provide additional support for a named individual child. The appointment will start as soon as possible and end when the child leaves the school or the additional support ceases.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9am – 3.15pm (27.5 hours per week)
Salary range depending on experience: PS3 – FTE £18,013 - £18,957 (£11,607 - 12,227 pro-rata)
Key tasks (under the direction of the class teacher):
• Assist the teacher in routine classroom tasks
• Organise and check materials
• Follow targets on individual plans and undertake specific tasks with individuals or small groups of children
• Contribute, where appropriate, to any discussion of pupils needs and progress
• Pupil welfare
• Support pupil activities and behaviour
• Participate in any relevant staff development activities
• Assist in meeting the children’s needs for encouragement and reassurance
• Encourage pupil self-help at all times
• Minor first aid
