About us

Who we are

avanti-travel-1200x800.jpg

Welcome to Avanti House School; first opened in September 2012, we are a 11–19 Hindu-faith school – part of the multi-academy, Avanti Schools Trust.

Our core values are central to all we do in developing young people. Whilst drawn from the Vaishnavist tradition of the Hindu Faith, our ethos also attracts students from families from across all faiths and from those of none. We are a fully inclusive school with no faith-based admissions criteria.

At Avanti House we deliver a rounded education to nurture confident and creative young people who will thrive in adult life. We put an equal emphasis on the highest academic achievement alongside the development of character and spiritual insight.

Our 6 Core Principles

  • We have incredible potential and can achieve this when nurturing all parts of ourselves – intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual.
  • We choose how we wish to respond to life and what we nurture within.
  • We care for and respect all life – human, animal and plant – and live in a way that causes the least possible harm.
  • We each observe the one same reality from our own unique perspective and engage in open-minded dialogue to deeply enrich our vision.
  • We serve a higher purpose by living a meaningful and satisfying life of contribution.
  • We are nourished by personal relationships that fulfil our need to love and be loved, encouraging us to be the best we can be.

What sets us apart

Avanti exists to help each person become a well-rounded human being through intellectual, moral and spiritual growth, and so make the world a better place.

Avanti Schools support each person’s life journey along three parallel paths: Educational excellence; Character formation; and Spiritual insight.

Avanti’s unique ethos places a key emphasis on each individual’s wellbeing and good mental health. Children with higher levels of emotional, behavioural, social, and school wellbeing, on average, have higher levels of academic achievement and are more engaged in the school community. All our schools share a dedicated approach to wellbeing, from providing yoga and mindfulness sessions, sports and exercise, charity work, and working with parents and carers as co-educators.
