West Leigh Infant School and Backwell Church of England Junior School formally federated in April 2013. The two schools serve the same community and indeed, the vast majority of children move from Year 2 at West Leigh to Year 3 at Backwell Juniors.
Being federated means we can work together even more effectively to ensure that all our children experience a world class education in Backwell. Although we are still two schools, we view ourselves as one community who take every opportunity to learn and thrive together.

The Lighthouse Schools Partnership is a Multi-Academy Trust with schools across the age range from Nursery to Sixth Form.
