Hours of Work: 

Hours and days will vary according to need, but availability is required between 08.00/08.30am - 3.30/4.00pm. We would like to gain applications from candidates that can commit to six sessions per week (a session is either a morning or an afternoon session).  The work is on a casual basis, with work available mornings and/or afternoons, mainly in May and June each year which is the main exam season, but also currently in December, January, March and occasionally at other times when needed.

Overview: 

We are seeking to appoint flexible, reliable people to join our invigilation team.  No experience is needed as full training will be given but experience in working with young people would be an advantage.   

You will support the Exams Team in the operational aspects of external and internal examinations. You will be assisting the smooth running of secondary level education exams, distributing and collecting papers, escorting pupils if required and ensuring that pupils are adhering to the examination standard guidelines at all times.

Desirable skills are:

Possess effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills

Work well as part a team

Confident and provide a reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms.

Provide clear instructions and manage situations involving various groups of people

Possess basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word software

All appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and satisfactory references.
