Engineering Maintenance Trainer – Permanent – £33,179 to £38,452 per annum

As skilled workers are in short supply in every single type of Engineering from Mechanical to Civil, this is an exciting time for an Engineering Trainer to join our Apprenticeships team and shape the next generation of trained industry professionals.

Our new Trainer will support a caseload of apprentices to meet the requirements of the Maintenance and Operations Engineering standard, as well as enabling each individual learner to progress to their next career steps. We will consider someone with either a Mechanical or Electrical maintenance specialism for this post.

Engineering Maintenance Trainer

Apprenticeship department

Permanent vacancy - 37 hours per week

£33,179 to £38,452 per annum

Our new Engineering Trainer will be joining a team of experienced Assessors delivering on various Engineering Apprenticeship standards, to meet the needs of employers. Your base will be our well-equipped STEM Centre where the apprentices will attend to gain knowledge-based delivery required as part of their qualification. Our Trainers will also meet apprentices in the workplace to further develop their skills and behaviours.

The Engineering Trainer will support a caseload of apprentices to meet the requirements of the Maintenance and Operations standard, as well as enabling each individual learner to progress to their next career steps.

We are looking for a learning professional to embed the following knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of systems to safely perform maintenance and operational activities
  • Understand compliance with technical specifications and supporting documentation
  • Maintain appropriate plant and equipment to meet operational requirements, identifying and repairing any faults
  • Comply with HSE working practices and regulations

There is no requirement to deliver functional skills within this role, as we have a separate team to cover this requirement.

We are happy to consider applicants that have no previous teaching experience, but have relevant skills and competency gained from industry. Ongoing guidance and a tailored comprehensive training plan will be provided if you are new to teaching and/or assessing, alongside a dedicated mentor to support you to succeed in your journey to become an outstanding Trainer.
