Department: Childcare & Health
Salary: £16,427 (£25,157 full time equivalent)
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Term Time
Hours: 28 hours per week
Reference: REC2207 | Closing Date: Sunday, 10th August 2025
Term Time Contracts
This contract offers part-time hours across 38 weeks of the year, primarily during term time. You will be required to work during the academic terms, with some additional duties outside of term time as needed. This structure provides a balance between a part-time role and flexibility during non-term periods.
The Opportunity
Based in our friendly Childcare & Health team, you'll play a key part in helping our students gain valuable experience in real-world settings. You’ll work closely with local health and childcare providers to identify and arrange meaningful work placement and work experience opportunities throughout the academic year. From coordinating logistics to ensuring all safeguarding and health and safety procedures are in place, you’ll make sure everything runs smoothly for both our students and employers.
You’ll be there to support our students every step of the way – helping them prepare for placement, guiding them through their experience, and encouraging them to reflect on what they’ve learned by completing a log or diary. You’ll also carry out regular check-ins, monitor progress, and be ready to offer support if any issues arise. Working alongside our course leaders and industry contacts, you’ll help tailor placements that support each learner’s programme of study.
Alongside this, you’ll promote the college and its courses to employers and stakeholders, build strong working relationships, and keep clear records of all activity. You’ll collect feedback from students and employers, using this to shape future placement opportunities and ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.
This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference to our learners’ futures while working in a dynamic, people-focused environment. You’ll be directly involved in helping our students gain the practical experience they need to succeed in the health, social care, childcare and education sectors.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings both experience and a strong personal approach to supporting our learners. Ideally, you’ll have experience of working within a customer-focused environment and liaising with employers on a regular basis. Your understanding of how childcare and health environments function will allow you to work closely with employers to secure placements that are safe, relevant, and rewarding for our students.
You’ll have a clear understanding of the needs of students in the workplace and how to support them effectively throughout their placement journey. Strong organisation, time management and teamworking skills are essential, as you’ll be coordinating multiple placements while working closely with tutors, students and external partners.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – are key, as you’ll be guiding our students, briefing employers and handling a range of enquiries. Your approachable and professional manner will help you build trust and rapport, while your empathy for our students will ensure they feel supported and encouraged throughout their experience. You’ll also be expected to always maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards in everything you do.
If you're someone who takes pride in your work and is motivated by helping learners grow and succeed, then this could be a great opportunity for you.
