GLT / Barnwood Park School has an exciting new opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic teacher of DT to join our existing team on a full-time basis for the next academic year starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team in a role that is both rewarding and impactful. We are looking to appoint a full-time, Design Technology teacher to deliver DT across KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher, committed to teaching our students so they can acquire a deep, long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of the subject.
A very important role that will create opportunities for students to develop and master many aspects of Design Technology and apply them to practical projects.
As a Teacher of Design and Technology you will be required to:
- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
- To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/tutor.
- To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to accelerate with their learning.
- To contribute to raising standards of student attainment across the school.
- To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
- To undertake a designated programme of planning and teaching across all key stages (KS3 & KS4) and to teach consistently high-quality lessons.
- To be a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested in your subject.
- To ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support.
- To maintain discipline in accordance with the school procedures, and to encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and home learning.
- To lead, monitor and evaluate the assessment and feedback to students in line with whole school and department policy.
