We are looking to appoint a Casual Duty Officer to join our team at Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre. The Sports Centre is based in the grounds of Tewkesbury Academy. It is a dual use Centre, which means that the school students use the facilities during school hours, and the wider community use the facilities in the evenings, on weekends and during school holidays.
We are seeking a committed and adaptable individual to take responsibility for managing the Sport Centre's facilities outside of school hours. The Duty Officer will provide all visitors with a friendly and positive experience, delivering effective customer service and maintaining safe and efficient facilities through supervision and high standards of housekeeping. As the Sports Centre operates a swimming pool alongside other facilities, holding a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is desirable. However, support can be provided to work towards this qualification if not already held.
The post holder will work on a casual claim basis and be willing to take on shifts on evenings and/or weekends. Hours can be discussed further at interview.
About you:
As a Duty Officer, you will:
- Provide a friendly, professional, and safe experience for all users of the Sports Centre
- Supervise and support lifeguards and swimming teachers during pool sessions
- Set up and dismantle equipment for sports and events
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and site security
- Respond to emergencies and uphold health and safety procedures
- Support the management of the pool plant and booking systems
